Unleash the dresses!

Finally, we got the dresses ordered. I say finally because I didn't think we'd have waited this long... but the dresses will be ready in November and I think that is a good time. Any earlier probably wouldn't work out very well. I worked my TAIL off trying to find the best deal for my girlies. $200 for a dress seemed abhorrent to me. It was tough to find anything even under the $150 mark. But I was able. So here goes!:
My four beautiful bridesmaids and my lovely junior bridesmaid will be wearing Alfred Angelo's Style 7016:

Shown here in Grape, which turned out to be the color that was closest to my Eggplant inspiration swatch:

I chose this style because it was simple and complimentary to pretty much any body shape. I thought it would look great shortened if they wanted to wear it again as a party dress. So many of my girls are shaped differently and different heights. This is a forgiving style that I think will look so pretty and feminine but not too... ya know, girly. I am also glad I was able to give them a strap. Nobody should have go strapless if it can be avoided.

For my gorgeous Maid of Honor, I found something incredibly different. At first, I wanted her in an assymetrical strap. But the one that I wanted only came in irridescents... nothing like our eggplant. And everything else wasn't covered in chiffon, which would make it shiny standing next to all my other chiffon coated girlies. When I found the store to by the BM dresses in, I happened to stumble upon this, Jordan 520:

I tried it on at first and didn't put the strap on right. I thought it was just a one-strapper. When I saw the picture I was really worried MoH wouldn't like it. But the way it was cut on the torso was just so perfect! And it came in EGGPLANT which matched the Grape for the Alfred Angelo's pretty much perfectly.
It turned out that MoH loved it and it looked fan-freakin-tastic on her. So we were settled, we were ordered, and we are on our way. One. Big. Huge. Checkmark.
I am SO glad to have that off my plate. WHEW!
As an aside, I am slowly going insane. My job is incredibly hectic right now and I'm on high stress alert from about a million other things floating around in my life recently. I am actually starting to do crafts just to keep my sanity. I am also working out and dieting. I plan to do a whole post on my weight loss once I figure out how much I have lost. I also have some pictures to share with out of the random crafts I have accomplished.
Honestly, this sudden drive to do stuff is actually making me feel like I'm getting things done. So I have decided to just start doing them. There are a few things such as invitations and favors that I will be getting together with mom and girls for. But if I can, I'm taking it all on myself.
Because if I don't, I'll go postal.
Ah.

Landmarks and Landmines

Alright so, it was catchy even if it really doesn't make any sense. On July 8th I not only turned a quarter of a century old but it was our 6 month mark. Now that all the partying is over, we have quite a bit to concentrate on... after July is over.

July has been... one of those months... What with the 4th of July and my birthday, two weeks in my head is already spinning. However, we recently checked tuxes and cake off the list. And next weekend all the bridesmaids are getting together to get those damned dresses checked off also. (post forthcoming on that one...)

This weekend we have the tasting for our wedding food. I am pretty excited... but that's because it's food and I love food.

This weekend we are also going to see Star Wars in Concert. We are such dorks, but I love it. This weekend is also full of a large amount of other things. My brother is also getting ready to go to bootcamp in the next week or so. We are still up in the air about when he's coming back... last time I saw him he said he'll be back the MORNING of my wedding. This is my biggest stress point right now.. not having my big brother at my wedding would be devastating. But mom keeps telling me there's nothing I can do about it so I don't need to worry right now. But still...

Of course we then have BF's sister-in-law's baby shower the last weekend in July. I get to make cookies for that... which I will then eat. I'm having a problem with things like ice cream and cookies... and mexican food. I don't think I've lost a pound (still). I might end up depending solely on underwear to retain my girlish figure. Weight loss fail so far anyways.

Once July is over I have sworn to concrentrate on the wedding only for the next few months. I want to get as much done before the holidays begin. The list of most important is as follows (in no particular order):
-Finish the bouquets
-Get rings figured out
-Get underwears for me so they can start getting my dress started
-Get invitations made to be sent out in late October/early November
-Get favor details figured out and get them babies started
-Make date for makeup trial
-Find hair lady and make date for hair trial

There is no way that is all going to fit into August so... I guess I will have to prioritize. Also, MoH has told me to keep the last two weekends in August free for her. I don't know why and I think it's fun that it's a mystery.

In any case, I guess we'll see how August goes. After July BF and I may need to take a weekend for ourselves and pupface.

Six months seems crazy to me. It seems more real, like this is where it all begins.

Now if we could just get all the guys to get fitted for their tuxes we would be on track!

Signing off for now... Hopefully I'll have dress info for you soon, non readers!

Ciao!

Black coat, white shoes, black hat...

Not quite...

But in any case.,we have registered the groomsmen! Here's what my guys will be wearing:

Calvin Klein Two Button Notch Lapel Tuxedo

What girl doesn't DREAM of seeing her man in a tuxedo at least once in a blue moon? The epitome of sexy, suave, and awesome. At least that's how I feel... I really can't wait to see the boys all dressed up in this sexy number.

I love the wing collar shirt... it just makes it look so much more special. And it looks great with...

Ok, so men's warehouse didn't have a picture... a Bow tie!!!! I'm stupid excited about the bow tie... it's just so classy and retro.... I'm talking I big pink puffy heart this bow tie thing. But not with the stupid cummerbund... Hates it

Herringbone Black Vest

Yay. BF actually picked this out himself. He liked the herringbone. So the best man will be in:
Herringbone Silver Vest

The Best Man is BF's big brother and we wanted him to stand out. MoH is wearing a different style dress from the rest of the my girls, so we gave the B-Man something different as well.

The rest of the boys will be wearing:
Herringbone Plum Vest

The Herringbone makes this plum look dark enough to be eggplant. And to tell you the truth, we are buying the girls dresses in 'Grape' because... well, eggplant is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm so proud of BF for the effort he put into these. I really wanted him to be included and this was the one way that he really could make choices. He picked the colors and the herringbone style and made a really cohesive type of thing. I love it but most of all I can sleep at night because I know I didn't badger him into any choices, he made them himself. It feels awesome.

The girls dresses are still in the works (I know, bad bride... I'm supposed to get the girls done first... but I have my reasons and we are very close to closing that chapter) so that's another post. Mom and I actually pretty much got it figured out, we just gotta get the girls there and everything set in stone. Yay!

Cake: Check.
Men's wardrobe: Check.
Ladies' wardrobe:.... semi-check.

Getting all this done has made me feel very accomplished. Especially since work is getting really crazy due to some unforeseen changes... I need all the uplifting I can get.

Next Thursday I turn 25 and we start the downhill slide of 6 months to the wedding. (and to death? or do I wait until my 30th birthday to start that? I dunno... all seems pretty upward to me...)

A lot of other exciting things I need to blog about, because blogging makes it real. And real means a check in the box next to my To Do items. Now I'm hyper from getting my dresses figured out, blogging my boy clothes, and getting ready for the long July 4th weekend.

See ya later!!
